DYYA Malaysia Social Business Forum
Sustainable Business Network Association Malaysia (SustNET) is proud to announce that we are organising the Malaysia Social Business Forum (MSBF) 2018, together with STEMSEL Foundation (Australia) and allow Schools and Universities to participate in Dr Yunus Young Ambassador Competition.
The purpose of this competition is to launch Dr. Yunus Young Ambassadors (DYYA) Program in Malaysia so that Schools and Universities may implement his vision of A World of Three Zeroes:a
Zero Carbon Emissions
Dr. Yunus' Three Zeroes aligns with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) which involves:
Sustainability: Which aligns with Zero Net Carbon
Australia-Asia Engagement: Symbolized Dr. Yunus coming to Adelaide
Indigenous Studies: Which relates to a Carbon Neutral world, no Unemployment, and no Poverty
Accompanying 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, STEMSEL has been a supportive member to “Create a World of Three Zeroes”.
SustNET and STEMSEL Foundation would like to see more School and University Curriculum adopt the technique of teaching sustainability subjects.
The competition will require competitors to use either their STEM Skills
1. To create an ezSystem project which implements the aforementioned Dr. Yunus' Three Zeroes, by using STEMSEL
2. To create any sustainability project which implements the aforementioned Dr. Yunus' Three Zeroes
The finalist projects will be presented at MBSF 2019.
The judging criteria of entries is the degree to which they address the Three Zeroes. i.e. entries should be STEMSEL projects which address poverty, unemployment, and/or the environment either directly, or indirectly.
You can read more about Dr. Yunus' vision of the Three Zeroes from his book, available here.
Part of the proceeds if anyone like to purchase the book, as with the registration fee, go towards the Grameen Shikka Scholarship Program.
STEMSEL - What is it?
Would you like to develop a project using STEMSEL? We can give a demo regarding STEMSEL Kit and provide Beginners Project Tutorials.
Not sure what to make? We can give some idea on STEMSEL Environmental Projects for suggestions.
For the STEMSEL Social Good Project at the Royal Adelaide Show 2017, the champion, Michael Zhang used a blue light to lure crop-eating grasshoppers from Africa into a water-filled tub, which could store them, until released as chicken food, sold to farmers. He used a laser-grid to detect and count them, to know the expected value of the chicken food stored in the tub.
Application for the Competition will be ready soon!!!
